On two occasions today I saw blokes doing their business on the hard shoulder of motorways. If youve got kids I can sort of understand, although I wouldn't risk it myself, fair enough if there's an accident and you've been stuck a while.
But in normal traffic, where there's junctions and services every few miles there are better options.

What are people's view on this?

People do it all the time here. There are petrol stations with full cafe/restaurants, toilets etc every 10 miles or so, bit people still insist stopping to have a pee. There really is no excuse. I've even seen people curling a number 2 in an adjoining field.

Ergh.

Is it really that hard to click on someone's profile?

Spotted an ambulance this morning in Dover. It was parked up, a few yards past a roundabout, and a man was standing about ten yards away on a grassy embankment, having a pee.

He wasn't wearing an ambulance uniform, but the cab was empty so I assume he was driving it. Mechanic, maybe?

Quite sensibly, he had switched on the blue strobes as a hazard marker...hehe

Maybe the patient was on fire on the embankment and the ambulance man had to put him out before he could take him to hospital. laugh

Actually seen a few years ago some guy taking a dump over the edge of a footbridge running across a stretch of dual carriageway..not a particularly nice sight..

If the man with the blue flashing lights happens to stop with you, you'll stand a good chance of donating to the country's coffers, *Illegal use of the hard shoulder* (unless there are mitigating circumstances, and a skin-full the night before won't cut it.)

As you say, "illegal use of the hard shoulder", and a copper, will, and should, do you every time on the motorway, bloody stupid. And, it's also an offence, to urinate in public in this country. We are, and thankfully will never be, like those disgusting French types.

Doesn't bother me. I could count on one hand how many times I've had to do it in 40 years.

I'd like to see more ladies doing it though. Why should peeing in public be reserved for men? Wearing a suit skirt, high heels and black rimmed glasses...
