I see so many threads about the cost of fuel I thought I'd start a positive one.

My local Shell diesel £1.37 (St Albans, Herts).

Horaah.

Oh the irony. Local station is 1.44. It was not that long ago this price was on a motorway filling station and I was glad I was filling the company van at that price not my own.

Sorry.

131 in Chesham on Friday.

But thats the thing now isnt it ? We are overjoyed to see it at 129, when in reality, it should be under 100.

We have got used to expensive fuel.

Not trying to be funny but what's positive about that, if you'd have said £1.07 then maybe that would be something to get mildly excited about.

My point being that as soon as price go up slightly everyone whines but when they go down no one says anything.

5p per litre within a month is quite a bit.

138.02 on my Shell card for next week, the local Asda is 137.7.

It's a pity heating oil hasn't come down as much.

Does anyone go out of their way to fill up?

Guy I work with drIves a few miles out of his way to fill up.

Surely the £2 saving is lost in burnt fuel, wear and tear,
lost time etc.

Just wait til they move the decimal in the "pounds" part one spot to the right on every pump.

Morrisons have got that great offer 'spend over £50 in store get 15p off per liter' at the moment, which will comfort the blow on the next tank load...

... and I know lots of other supermarkets are doing similar offers, but you can't help but thing the government will use this as a blanket under which to hide their constant price rises. However did they say on the news last night that the next 3p rise is still under review?

Because they are owned by different people so they set whatever price they think they can get away with.
