Morning All

as some might have read, im at a crossroads in my life to do with, work, where i live and just about everything - i have arrived at the point where im taking a 2 year contract with work, then head onto bigger things! My current car isnt feasible for the work i will be doing so i will be looking to replace in the new year, get looking early!

currently drive - subaru forester s turbo 1999; love it, the only downside is the costs, tax, running and maintenance, all pretty scary, but worth it in my current situation.

What i need -
Reliability - i dont mind replacing bits if they're easy, but i have a peugeot 205, which provides enough mechanical challenges.
Economical - 40+mpg realistically
Comfort - just a hassle free commute to work
Fairly fun - bit of fun, nothing too hard riding - roads are pretty poor around us
Cheap - need cheap tax, cheap'ish parts, and cheap servicing - I can service it myself - if its cheap and bargey.

looking to spend about £2000-£3500

a thought was: 05' Skoda Fabia VRS

Cheers
John

needs more mpg buddy! only does about 30, need about 40, getting 28 atm and its costs too much!
really want to have something fun - but without the drawback of £££ hense why diesels seem abit more appealing

sadly; less fun, more dull frown
