Finally getting rid of my focus as its cost me a fortune even though its still in warranty!
Im looking for something with 4 wheel drive as I do go places were I tend to bottom out my current car and have been stuck once hehe
I need 4 seats min but atleast 5 would be ideal
Would like sub 10 secs to 60 and a bit of oomph to overtake
Not really too fussed on mpg if its petrol as im considering lpg for the benefits such as cheaper tax and more mpg equivalent. I do circa 12000 miles a year with 600 mile round trips to devon 3 times a year
I have £6500 max maybe stretch extra £500 if it was perfect but want to spend less so I have some cash in my pocket smile
As everyone else would like it to be reliable to keep costs down.
So far ive tried a 2.4 suzuki grand vitara which was dissapointing but the OH likes the look of it.
I quite like the subaru forester but from pics the OH doesn't like it!
We both like range rovers but I dont trust reliability on my budget.
Would like it to be 2005 or newer but again not to fussy
What does PH suggest?

Never driven one so can't comment on that, but what about a P38? Lots on LPG already out there...

If you are not bothered about mpg then how about a petrol powered Jeep:

Does it have to be a full-sized offroader? If not, considered a Legacy Outback?

Don't Bother with the P38 range rover (coming from some one who has one) 12k Per year is a lot and even on lpg you will only see around 22-25 mpg. I tend to see 11-16mpg 16 on a bit of a run 11-13 around town. I love mine but i do around 3-4k per year tops.

Mine has a few niggles door locks alarm faults air suspension has a mind of it's own from time to time. But none of that bother me as i will scrap it when it's done.

I think there are better cars out there for the money on LPG the range rovers seem to expensive on gas for what they are i paid Shed money for mine with out gas but can not justify spending over a grand to fit a conversion for that return

This would be my choice, and I've had a few 4x4's.

Range Rovers just don't wear well, and will cost a lot in maintainance, even if you do it yourself.

My uncle, 80 year old, has had a Lexus RH300 and 400h, and both have been a pain in the ass. In and out of the dealer, time after time and all under warranty. So what a secondhand one would be like, god only knows.

Rav4?

They are pretty good on the road and have ground clearance.
