Thinking of Buying 2005 Boxster

I'm looking for help to get a Boxter inspected by a porsche or specialist dealer. Car I'm looking at for sale by small dealer in Wellingborough, Northhants.

I'm not sure that dealer knows enough to be able to convince me properly as I would have to buy over phone as I live North of border.

Does anyone out there know of someone, in that area, knowledgeable enough to assess car properly ?

Any help would be appreciated.

I did albeit it was from a Porsche dealer

I don't think the OP mentioned that anywhere??? Might be just some local garage!

The AA or RAC do inspections for a fee. There is a posche garage at silverstone (approx 15-20 miles away)

My brother bought a car from the US via the e-bay/e-mail.

The first time he say it, it was sitting in southampton docks.

Guys, thanks for all your responses.

Reason I am thinking of buying over phone is because Ive done it before (with no probs), after asking many searching questions and I'm also in North Scotland so its approx 500 miles away - so not easy just to nip down and see for mself as I also have a very busy job.

Its not a Porsche approved dealer so I take your points and realise its a risk, but I thought if I could get someone to check it out on my behalf it would give me some comfort that its ok.
