Non-fault injury RTC - deal direct or through solicitor?
Discussion
Hi all - recently been involved in a non-fault RTC where the driver admitted liability from the outset through his company.
Both occupants have substained whiplash related injuries which to-date are ongoing.
3rd party insurer, Aviva have made contact in relation to the damage and injury claim and have offered the referal to a health care company to assess injuries and settle the claim.
Question is - do we deal direct with the 3rd party company who state will be quicker and have our interests in mind not necessarily their customer as it is non-fault?! (they have been very efficient so far) or use the solicitor assigned to us through our insurance company who incidentally will recover their costs through the 3rd party.
Thoughts / similar experiences greatfully received.

The first suggestion will be cheaper for us all as it doesn't include the cost of the solicitor (and inevitable games and costs Thoughts / similar experiences greatfully received.
) arranged via your insurance company. No doubt you'll be flamed to hell and back at least once
, but if you're happy with the 3rd party people so far, then why risk frankly excessive solicitors' costs that will impact my premia and those of everybody else on here more than your genuine claim (which nobody should begrudge you, playing the devil's advocate) already will? In essence, anyway, and it's your call
.I suspect that so long as you don't sign anything saying "full and final payment", you'll always have the choice to involve the leaches at a later date.
If you think they're being fair with you, they probably are. Too many people about with £millions in their eyes and a "free hire car".
