Insurance renewal

Something is up, I've just had the renewal through for the insurance on the better halfs car.
The car is in my name as is the insurance, however she is down as the main driver, she has an SP30 from 4 years back, I have a claim from 2 years back when someone hit my company car ripping the bumper off and scarpering so it had to go through works insurance in my name and we had a £4k fault claim in the summer when she reversed into someone.
Ok, the renewal, oddly is 20% cheaper than last year, I've checked and all of the above is on there, I went on the Meerkat to see if I could get a better deal and hey presto I have manged to save even more, an additional 22% over the renewal quote.
What's going on, every past year the insurance has gone up, we aren't at a milestone age either I'm 37 and the wife is 38?
Anyone else had a nice insurance shock recently?
