Hi all,

Having had the caddy van for a couple of weeks, i have decided that the dipped beam brightness is terrible and IMO bordering on dangerous as they really are very dull.

On my last van, when one failed, i bought a pair of "upgraded" bulbs from my local motorists shop and they were very good, but, as usual, i cant remember the make etc.

So, basically, i am after an upgraded bulb to give a slightly brighter light, but not really wanting to go all "barry" with the blue look etc.

Therefore, can any suggest a good one to get?

I did do a search on the web, but tbh, im amazed and how many different ones there are and quite frankly, it confused the hell out of me biggrin

Thanks!.

Halfrauds +90 made a world of difference on my Puma. They don't have the barry blue tinge either

Philips Extreme Vision or Osram Nightbreakers seem to win most of the comparison tests. Ebay or Amazon - for goodness sake don't pay high street prices!

IGNORE!!! MOT failure now!

I recently installed Ring xenon ultima's, the ones advertised in the top gear mags. Highly recommended!

I have ebay rainbow bulbs, no idea of make (chinese rubbish I think) but they are the all weather jobs that have a slightly purple - slightly bluey green - slightly yellow aspect to them. It's a much more soothing illumination of the road and they look white to oncoming vehicles. Tenner delivered.

Nonsense.

My car just passed its mot this morning with HID's fitted.

I know no one who's car has failed for correctly fitted HID's.

Thanks again chaps.

Looking on ebay, they list the Philips Xtreme Vision H7 fitment (which is what i have), but they also list the same for specific vehicles.

If i put mine into the checker it tells me they wont fit?

I thought all H7 lamps were the same fitment?

Well, after wrongly guessing the lamp type, i have just fitted the Phillips X treme vision and they are bloody fantastic!

A huge improvement over the standard Osrams that i took out.

Thanks again!!!

well why would they if they're correctly fitted? its when they dont have headlamp washers and self-levelling lamps its illegal etc

we are thus assuming the OP doesnt have this set up as standard, therefore suggesting some legal alternatives for his upgrade.
