Guaranteed mileage... My @rse!

Whilst browsing the bay for cars ending soonest, I came across a little gem with a genuine guaranteed mileage.

I thought I'd ask the seller how he guaranteed the mileage, and he was quick to respond

(He/she obviously sell a few cars from googling the phone numbers on the ad)

Message as follows;


Dear jahangirbadar,

Can you tell me how you are guaranteeing the mileage on this car?

Reply:
Hi, Bcz I checked when I bought it

I responded;

Dear jahangirbadar,

That's very reassuring. What did you check?


So far they've not come back to me. Seriously, who are they trying to kid?

There is no real way of 100% telling if milage is correct. Whatever the car.

I know that, the reply just made me laugh. Surely anyone in the right mind trying to sell a car would have given more thought to the question.

Many many years ago I knew someone who used to get his 1.4 Corsa clocked annually just before the mot, I can't see how any mileage can be guaranteed.
