Hello

Since the dawn of time the car and the telephone have shared a deep and symbiotic relationship. It's well known that a telephone is only one chromosome away from a car, in evolutionary terms.

And it is with this in mind that I tentatively announce that I wish to use my teeth to remove a genetic telephone mutation from my car; post haste. If not sooner.

Look:

I have a prehistoric slab of Nokias Defunctus growing out of my dashboard's face.

I actually like this massive fat telephone, in the same way that I like ugly dogs and sausage rolls. But I really wouldn't mind removing it in order to put something there that I could actually make a telephone call with.

I'm even willing not to use my teeth.

It is wired in and the computery thing knows it's there and tries to talk to it. There is a speaker thing on it too so it probably is already hands free powered liquid something or other.

My question is this list of questions:

0. Can I just rip this out?
1. Can I sellotape an iPhone it and then use the iPhone?
2. No further questions.

Thanks in advance for whatever happens next. x

Why not just pop a sim card into it and see what happens?

Angle grinder material. Or a blowtorch. Maybe a tiny bit of C4?

A job of this delicacy surely calls for the gas axe.

Good point.

And well done on living life with technology entirely from the 1930s, having never ever decided to upgrade something when a previous incarnation of the same thing still "did what it's meant to do".

Oh, hold on, I mean bad point.

Or missed point.

I am about to make all of this idea up as I go along, so feel free to ignore it, infact that would probably be best.

On that cradle the connection on the bottom is just for power and the speaker, as the ariel plugs into the back of the phone and it uses the phones mic.. I think. So, with a bit of experimenting and an old Iphone connector you may be able to make it work, or kill your phone. Its worth a giggle smile
