Future / hypothetical what car

Situation: in about a year hence I hope to be in a position to change the daily for something a bit more exciting than a diesel passat... That is dependant on a couple of contracts going the way I expect them to.
So i could be in a position to run either a Mercedes AMG C32 or a 911 (996 C2S flavour).
The AMG wins because it's available in estate form which is ideal for the dog and family wagon duties (why do kids need *so* much stuff?) and an auto box suits it.
The Porsche wins because I've always wanted a 911. Seems like a good enough reason.
Both would be about the same value, both would be about 100k miles old for the budget, the Porsche would be older in terms of years.
I cover about 25k/annum and reckon both would cost the sameish to run over that mileage. I do need something smart for turning up at client premises but nothing too flash for the same reason.
Thoughts, ideas, alternatives to the above? Stupid choices for the use/mileage they'll get?
