so im running a 2000 e46 330i at the moment and feel its lack of lsd a bit disappointing in the wet ,id love to throw 1k at it and get a quaife diff but its just not worth it on such a cheap car .
what other cars come standard with a lsd around this era for around 3k
the ability to carry a dog and bikes would be a bonus smile

Buy a diff from a breaker and get it welded up.

Most LSD's on older cars will be so shagged that they will act like open diffs anyway.

Bear in mind that until you actually break traction a simple LSD will, to a greater or lesser degree depending on how its set up, just make the car under-steer more.

Understood, just bear in mind that there may be negatives too.

Earlier E36 328i?

Omega MV6? (Not sure about them actually)
Or an E36 Alpina B3, which would represent a slight increase in performance over the 330i

The last one that I had a kick about in would always spin the offside wheel, if I was aiming left it would always spin both. Therefore the cheap option is to only turn left biggrin

Rover BRM 200, well you never said it had to be rwd... wink

Nissan 200SX would be a good shout, or another BMW that does have one.

I don't know but I presume a Skyline R33 the GTS and GTS-T would have an LSD?

Lexus Soarer?

3rd Gen Fbody V8.

Nice E36 would be my recommendation. Shame none of the E46's got LSDs bar the M3, my 330ci would have been a hoot with one I think. I wouldn't weld one either, you won't pass MOT for a start.

Can the E36 LSD be fitted to an E46 ?

I presume the E46 M3 has an LSD, can't this be fitted ?

It's a common mod on an E36 costing circa £350

RX8. Cheap, RWD and has an LSD as standard.
