Leaning towards the new F1's for my VRS.

Anybody got them fitted? What are they really like?

Anybody found them at a good price?

Best i've found on mytyres

I had a full set on my Impreza WRX estate, moved onto them from worn Eagle F1 GSD3's (the funky V pattern tread ones). They were 215/45/R17

They had lovely really nice low road noise and were compliant even in 91 load rating.
The grip overall was great but I did notice a bit more understeer going onto them from the F1 GSD3's (although those tyres were practically slicks on the inside when I changed them, naughty boy). Nothing woeful though, and I'm sure it could have been dialed out. Imprezas understeer naturally anyway so it's not the tyre to blame. Probably just a new tyre accentuating the cars natural balance.

I didn't get to feel their breakaway point, and not for want of trying. I think I'd have fallen out of that car sideways before finding their grip limit. They were good under braking too, so I think their overall grip limit is very high.

On a powerful FWD car I'd keep an eye on the fronts and rotate front to rear before they look worn, to extend the life, because my only concern with them would be tread wear. All that grip and compliance has to come at SOME price, right? I was planning on getting 20k miles out of mine (but again, Imprezas eat tyres)
My Ex boss had them on his Octavia VRS and rated them very highly - bling 19's as well IIRC.

Excellent tyres, if they're within budget then you won't be disappointed. I found prices didn't vary by more than a few quid a tyre in my size.

Superb tyres and nothing to fault them on so far.

Very compliant as the post above mentions, noticeably more comfortable ride than what was fitted previously.

They are the only answer I have found to the frustration of getting on the power when cornering in a fwd car in tricky conditions.

Between all of my cars the only other tyres I have tried which can stand up to them are Michelin Pilot Sport 2s.

rsv gone!

I have them on my Evo, to replace my second set of F1As. They are definitely quieter and more comfortable. I have load rating 97. They are quite squirmy when they are new, though. But then, that was also the case with the mk1s.

They suit the Evo very well with tons of grip, wet or dry.

I've just switched to them on my Z4. Try lovetyres.com, they were the cheapest for me.
I had the orginal Asymmetrics on my Monaro and they were great, on the Z4 they give a much better ride than the Bridgestone RE050A runflats did and seem grippier. Good price too. I gather Costco are doing 20% off Michelins right now so it might be worth looking at some PS3s instead if they are cheaper.

A bit cheaper here (no affiliation): http://lovetyres.com/tyre/Goodyear-Eagle-F1-Asymme...

They're stock tyres on the Alfa 156, or at least their predecessors were. I have them, and they're pretty much the ideal tyre, except on snow and ice where they're one of the worst.

I have them on my Z4,and really like them. I get through rears at about 12k, and the fronts did nearly 30k including 2 track sessions.Recommended.

getting a set of these put on the Leon tomorrow, fully fitted for £192 from a local tyre fitters, cheaper then the other pair i had fitted in February which were £210....

Has been a great tyre so far, they have been on the front whilst a mix on the back (previous owner....) so looking forward to getting the partly worn ones onto the back and the new ones on the front so will be the same tyre all round....

I've got them on my Focus ST, they replaced the ditchfinders that were on it when I bought it. I can't fault them, the grip in the dry and the wet is great but I haven't tried them in ice and snow yet.

Can't fault them.

Can handle 600NM as well as the OE Contisport Contacts. Car runs the same 1/4 mile time - ie traction is good. Much cheaper than most of the competition in the 'premium' tyre sector too (in Oz).

Recommended.

Well booked in at Wheels in Motion.

4 tyres and a decent geometry setup from a trustworthy company for a very reasonable price.

Looking forward to getting these Potenzas off!

Just had a pair fitted to my Golf - 225 40 ZR18 - the road noise has improved drastically. Annoyingly as it's a company car and I had a prang recently, I have 3 makes of tyres on the car - 2 F1s up front a dunlop and a Bridgestone which I'm not happy about but I can't control that.

I had 4x Dunlops fitted last year though - £1000 fitted !!

Go them on my car and cope well with 300bhp through the front. Can't compare though as it came with them.

Ran them on my R32 and couldn't fault them. Always found Camskill to be competative. Also worth checking your local HiQ place as I've found their prices good, probably because Goodyear has a stake in them.

Full set on my ATR, absolutely fantastic tyres, so predictable down country lanes where the road surface can vary widely between deep puddles, wet, greasy and bone dry.

Grippy, quiet, comfortable and well priced. Will buy again. smile
