Just wondering, I saw one on eBay and wondered if anyone has used one in an emergency?

I've had to get out of a seatbelt in an emergency. I used the big red button on the catch, although I had to use the hand without the broken fingers. The belt had seen enough force to fracture my spine, but still undid with a click.

Even if I'd had a belt cutter on that day I wouldn't have been able to reach for it, or pick it up if it was on the damaged side. I suppose I might have felt a little safer before the crash though.

I think they are more likely to be used by someone who happens across an accident rather than the people in the car. If its in the glovebox you might not reach it and leaving it "loose" wouldnt be a good idea.

Ah the one I saw mounts into a holder to stop it from coming loose in a crash. Where would you mount it though?

Didn't think about people using it to rescue, probably makes more sense.
