Dear all

My wife's grandfather saw an unusual badge in Hertfordshire recently and asked me who the manufacturer was after describing it (no photo's sadly). According to him it was a round badge with a horizontal line and a vertical line cutting it into quarters (like a pie cut into four equal parts) and it looked a bit like a target.

He said the car appeared quite old and may have had an 'A' reg - the older A reg, not from the 80s.

I couldn't see anything when I googled it, so if anyone could she any light, we'd be most grateful.

Thanks

He might have seen a Chevrolet? Is he in to cars or would he know it wasn't one of these?

Wild guess... BMW?

Seems to fit the description. A touch obvious though, hardly a rarity.

Nope, not a BMW which was my first thought though very similar, it had the outline of the outer circle and inner straight lines but nothing else.

Not a Chevrolet badge either.

Thanks anyway!

The only ones I can think of that remotely fit the bill are the Alfa Romeo badge and old Lancia badge. Maybe just a club badge of some sort?

Could she possibly mistaken it for the 'star' Chrysler badge?

Would be in keeping with 1984, too.

Morgan have horizontal and vertical bars. And would certainly look old, even if brand new!

Come on guys, read the OP - it's not the 1983 A-reg prefix but the older suffix. (Hence certainly not the Talbot "T".)

Did this old boy not give any clues about the car on which he saw this badge?

Have you read the question? Unless Henrik Fisker was designing cars as a newborn, I think you're way off.

He said it was a very boxy, dated looking 3 box saloon in a yellow colour a bit like a wartburg. That's all I know!
