Morning PHers,

Can going over a bad bump upset your tcs/dtc/dsc or whatever the manufacturer calls it, meaning it needs reset before it works again ?

I'm sure I recall reading in an old manual that loose surfaces and bad bumps can cause it.

Reason I ask is that I got a warning on the car shortly after a bad bump last night. Stopped, everything off and on again, no warning and clear for the remaining 23 miles home.

I've had occasional TC and / or ABS lights come on in the past after potholes / big bumps, everything has been fine afterwards once the lights have gone out.

Might trigger it, shouldn't break it

Weird one, comes on after every decent bump eg bridge joints when car is warmed up, eventually turning itself off, only to happen again later.

Booked back in with garage to have a look. Sounds like something is loose or something like that. Other than that car is perfect.

I probably mistitled the thread is I don't drive through potholes, have paid the price before....
