Hi,

Slightly random question, but does anyone know of a good snow/ice driving school in the Alps, especially near Innsbruck? A mate of mine lives down there and we're keen on finding instructors who speak English. I went to a fairly amateur one near Alpe d'Huez some years ago.

Cheers

The alpe d'huez one is one of the circuits they do the Andros trophy on.

You'd have to wonder how professional it gets, short of getting on a plane to Finland to barrel about in a 911 on a frozen lake laid out like silverstone.

Thanks

The Alpe d'Huez one wasn't bad but the instructor didn't do much other than smoke and make the odd Gallic utterance!

Well the Val Thorens one certainly looks fun from the chairlift!

Any alpine car park and a rental car, surely?

biggrin

The best fun is with the biggest vehicle you can find - my favourites so far have been a Mercedes Sprinter and a Ford Crown Victoria.

Thanks for the info folks, will follow up a couple of these. French Alps a bit far from Innsbruck although those do look pretty good.
