Hi All,

Just read about the above product and basically if you break down and the AA cannot fix, you take the car to the garage and they repair your car.

The AA then pay up to £500 towards the cost.

Seems good?!

The only problem I can see is that they only pay up to £85ph ?? So if I break down in the Mercedes, I guess taking the car to a MB garage/workshop is out of the question !!!

That is strange as I would prefer MB to fix my car?!

PS...your thoughts or experiences please.

I've used it once for the Grand Cherokee when the front callipers seized on. They pad for callipers, front flexis & labour with no issue. My indie only charges £48 per hour though!

It's a good cover. You have to make sure your car has sevice history and reg no is correct in the system. You can take your car to authorised dealers or indipendents there is no pressure on you to go somewhere you dont want to go. With each claim right now £35 exess charge and each claim can be up to £500 minus the exess, antyting over the £500 you have to top up the rest. The cover does nit include fuel tyres ,keys, body work but includes battery, engine, altenator ,starter motor and the like.
I do work for them any more info youcan pm me.

Sounds like a good plan. £85 per hour for a mechanic is a lot of money.

I agree £85ph is a lot for a mechanic, but I'm sure MB,BWM,Audi, most major car manufacturers charge £100+ph??

A gamble with the odds slightly against you, just like any other insurance.

As said, most main dealers labour rates seem to be edging towards £100/hour these days so not sure how useful this sort of cover would be - only any good at a decent independent I guess.
