Only "suspected" because it works off a transmitter fob for opening and closing. There are no keyholes in the doors and I can't get into it to find out what's wrong.

Tried the spare fob too so it's probably not a flat battery in the fob and there should be a red LED on the dash but no sign of it flashing. Standard factory set up.

Can anyone tell me how to get into it?

PM me if it's a bit security sensitive.

On nissans on one side of the door handle there's a cap that pops off and reveals a lock. Certainly is on primer as.
