According to their website it'll do 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds and has a maximum range of 300 miles. Much want.

But the two are mutually exclusive
Thing is though, you can brim a 3.0d XF in a few minutes and off you go again. It's the recharge time that's the problem.
Along with the fact that the list price saving of the diesel Jag over the electic Tesla pays for all your fuel.
Handsome thing though.

They're going to be extremely popular here in Norway (mostly because we got s***loads of car taxes, but the electric ones get away with only VAT + you can drive electric cars in the bus lanes which is awesome during rush hour).
I weekly spot several Roadsters here in Oslo and AFAIK population wise we're no. 1 for buying Tesla cars...
I am a little bit excited about this car too, but as long as there's petrol I won't buy an electric car. Maybe a test drive would change my mind...? Or that BMW i8 thingy...
How many miles would a car like this do? How often would the battery pack need replacement?

Its the same in Denmark, 180% car tax on top of the cost price plus 25% VAT, but not for electric cars - two of my friends have already ordered theirs I weekly spot several Roadsters here in Oslo and AFAIK population wise we're no. 1 for buying Tesla cars...

I'm currently in Norway too and can't believe the number of electric cars of all types. Leaf(s), imievs, even a Think that charges next to my workplace. Since most Norwegians tend to fly long distances and only drive a few hours they kind of make sense...I weekly spot several Roadsters here in Oslo and AFAIK population wise we're no. 1 for buying Tesla cars...

Only seen one Tesla here, but then i'm in Bergen, not Oslo.

I saw this car, I think, at the Tesla showroom in LA last month. Lovely car, if I had the cash I would have one in a heartbeat.
Depreciation on this vs. a 7 series/A8/XJ would be nice to see. Bet it covers the batteries (which may actually cost bugger all to replace in 10 years - who knows?).

Some people might not like the wheels or the colour either. If you do this thing called "sleep" then you can recharge it while sleeping

I've been following this car for years. Perfect family wagon for me. Don't commute by car but use a practical car to drive 80 fast motorway miles at the end of the week. Have garages with power at both ends.
My only issue is that I genuinely do not believe in touch controls in cars. I think they have made a very big mistake and the next gen of the S will have conventional controls.
The idea of having to take your eyes off the road to change any function of the car makes them death wagons. There is a reason why every other manufacturer still has chunky, tactile controls.
