I'm fitting a new Exide battery. They've got plastic terminal caps. Right now the only way I can see to get them off is to cut them off as they're a nightmare. Any issues with that, or any technique to get them off?

I'm not practically minded, and generally follow the rule of, 'if you need to break it to get it off it shouldn't come off,' but that's just stupid in this case. Probably.

It's this (or very similar.) And they won't pull off by hand or by pliers.

Large flat bladed screwdriver under the bottom lip and pry off.

The bottom lip of the terminal cover, I might add.

Just fitted one, they just pulled off quite easily.

I was being a bit feeble. A bit of leverage on the cut outs at the top and they came off with a pair of pliers. Probably would have been easier to remove them before I fitted them.
