Here's a question for you people..here's a brief description
i get rearended by a lorry
car's a right off..he admits liability
his ins comp provide me with hire car whilst we negotiate
they wrongly value my vehicle at 2k..it's worth 4.8k i send them valuation
they send me an interim payment of 2.9 ..then pull the hire car..before the interim cheque has even cleared
is this actually legal?
as they are not my insurance comp the ombudsman won't /can't help with a complaint

anybody out there got any suggestions ??
Thank you in advance

Yep it is. In the third party's eyes you have been paid out. The financial interest you had in the claim is settled and they won't continue to pay for the hire.
Looking at the claims we deal with moat people seem to get a decent t/l figure. What have you got?

Why did you accept the interim payment? I would have waited and kept the hire car.
