Sitting in traffic yesterday, I saw an utter monstrosity of a car go past on the back of an AA truck - it looked like the bd child of a Nissan Primera and a Suzuki Jimny - a hatchback with a hideous rectangle stuck on the boot.

A little like a cross between this

and this

I'm pretty sure someone will know what it was - please enlighten me, so I know to avoid dealerships selling that make of car!

That looks like the puppy! Glad I quoted you as I still would have been none the wiser unless I had seen the file name beer

What drugs must the the designer have been on when he came up with that and thought 'Yep, that looks ace - I reckon that will sell by the bucketload.' confused

Edit - it really does look like a Nissan/Suzuki love-in, doesn't it....

From Wiki:

The car was designed by Ken Greenley,[5] former head of the automotive design course at the Royal College of Art in London. The design goal was to capture the essence of a luxury yacht.

In 2005 the Rodius won the dubious distinction of being voted "the ugliest car ever made" by visitors to motoring website CarData and is described by Top Gear Magazine as a car: "that looks like it got bottled in a pub brawl and stitched back together by a blind man" and the car also won the Top Gear Magazine WTF Award for 2009. [6]

It also got described as: "having a face like a burnt thong" by the Australian magazine Wheels.[7]

In 2010, the Australian magazine liftout of the Sydney Morning Herald, Drive Life, described the car as being "so cack-handed in every aesthetic department it makes the average people-mover owner feel like they are getting about in an ultra-stylish Italian sports machine", later going on to call it a "collapsing bus shelter on wheels".[8]

I can see what he was going for with that C-pillar line, and on something with a bit more curve and purpose it might look alright, but the castor-size wheels and boxyness ruin it.

I couldn't believe it when one on my colleagues rolled up in a one as a rental a few years ago.

It was even more distressing in the flesh/metal.

I've a chap (private hire) who has one. I only use him if I really need to and never with families with children!

There are at least 3 (groups of) people in the wrong here.
-the designer
-the board of commissioners who gave the go-ahead for this
-all buyers of the monstrosity
