S2000 isn't getting used much in this weather. Came to start it today after 2 weeks unused and its not having it. Electrics are ok - radio came on and air con ran - but pressing the starter button and it just clicks furiously. Engine doesn't even turn over. Anyone got any advice or thoughts?

Happened quite a lot to mine...Battery is almost a motor bike size so has no real get up and go and it always clicked away once it got flat

If its an early one with separate fob be very careful if removing a dead battery - it can fry the immobiliser when you plug a new battery in if you don't deactivate it using a good battery first using jump leads across the dead one

I know his from experience with an s2000 in an old job!

Certainly the battery, mine was totally dead after leaving it for 2 weeks a few years back after xmas as I was laid up with chest infection frown

Honda are good on battery prices so give them a call on a replacement.

Thanks chaps. Battery it is then. Do I really need to buy one though? Surely it will jump start?

probably will jump, yes. As the battery has discharged after a couple of weeks chances are it will again. A jump start will get you going and charge the battery but it wont last long, especially if the car is left unused for long periods. I just had exactly this with my 3rd car. I found eurocarparts the cheapest. £75 for an Exide battery, delivered in 48 hrs with a 4 year guarantee.

Not sure if this is correct for your car but £70 with 3 year guarantee is not bad.... cant find your car on eurocarparts. If you use your reg its more specific. I also measured my height, depth, etc and checked which side was + and - prior to ordering, just a tip!

Note that Halfords code for th S2000 is wrong (terminals wrong way round). Why they never sorted it I'll never know,

HB053 is the correct one I think?! Check on www.s2ki.co.uk Better still, just pop by your local Honda, cheaper than Halfords last I checked.
