Has anyone been to Oulton Park to do this? It is a 2 hour session, in which you get to drive an M3 for 15m, then a single seat racer for 15m. I quite like the look of it, and as i'm struggling to suggest anything else my missus could get me for xmas, seems ideal. Another bonus is that the track is only about 20m away.

I did not do the race master, but did the rally master.
I had such a good time that I ended up going out a month later and buying a track car.

I've done the Racemaster, Rallymaster and plenty of trackdays at Oulton Park.

I didn't enjoy the Racemaster that much as the single seater had a rev limiter on it. The Rallymaster was much much more fun.

I instruct on both of these events at Oulton.

Rally is probably the one that gets the best feedback as you get 45 minutes in car and you will be encouraged to power-slide the cars round, it isn't very high speed but it is really great fun. If you asked people what they were hoping it would involve before they arrived and then see how that compared to what they actually did it would be a pretty close match.

If you want something on track I'd say Racemaster is one of the best "driving experience" events you will get for that kind of budget, the M3s are brand new and well up for the job, you are on a proper race track (not an airfield) and whilst the single seaters do have rev-limiters they are still pretty quick and exciting to drive.
