Is it me or do variations in paint show up more in photo's more than in 'real life'?

Or do you think photo's highlight differences that aren't there?

I was trawling the small ads and spotted this beauty.........is it me or..?

To me, it looks like a differential in the surface that it's photographed with reflecting in the body work? Front is much darker than the rear

ETA: But I am colourblind!

I would like to see that car in real life.

It does look like the front door/wing and bumper have been painted from that pic.

I imagine its just as bad in real life can't see how a camera would pick something up that wasn't there.

BTW, I just used the pic as an example of what I am on about....I'm sure it's a bloomin' lovely motor. It's just summat I see quite regularly in pics in the classifieds and wondered if it is 'real' or a 'trick of the light' in some/most cases?

This - (slightly) more ambient light reflected from the (marginally) smoother, lighter surface than the rougher (which therefore dissipates more light) dark surface.
