Hi,

Any suggestions on Classic Car insurance companies for a MX5 1998?

Wanted to get a feel for prices before I pulled the trigger on a car purchase.

My NCB is being used on my M3 and 996 - Admiral came in at £600 under a standard online quote...tried Adrian Flux Classic Insurance and the quote was c£1200.

As reference my M3 costs £500 a year to insurance - which includes business use and my wife on the policy - I had in my head a couple of hundred quid to insure the mx5; perhaps that is completely unrealistic?

Thanks in advance.

Try Premium choice http://www.premiumchoice.co.uk/ they may not be the cheapest, but do have a fantastic breakdown recovery service option for £59. = Any vehicle you're driving / passenger in, and European cover as well. If you have a number of vehicles and it does sound like you have, you'll not get the same breakdown cover anywhere else.

^^^ above

Fantastic company! I had my NA MX5 1993 V-Spec insured with them. £210 a year including breakdown!

The best thing is I didn't need to utilise any no claims as they are irrelevant on classic car policies. I haven't got any no claims anyway! Been insured with work for 5 years so lost them 3 years ago.

I'm with RH as well.

They cover the 1987 e28 M5 for about £190 for the year and the 2000 MGF is about £150.

I've been using them for a few years and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
