Why are new car brochures so boring.
Discussion
In the market for a new car, I've had a few brochures sent through from various manufacturers. When did car brochures get so dull.
I remember one time when cars were shot in exotic locations and accompanied by equally exotic stories of taking your XJS on an overnight European jaunt or your MGF for a long weekend.
Now, it's just about tax efficiency and how many litres you can get in the boot. Why would I want to get 300 litres in the boot anyway when I only get a 6 pack of beer and a 2 litre bottle of coke?
What ever happened to sexist photos of women getting out of sports cars in short skirts in brochures and blokes doing blokey things rather than looking like they are profficient merchant bankers in every shot.

I remember when car brochures detailed each and every trim leve in the range, from the base model up to the top-of-the range trim. Each trim had at least a page detailing the key features over the previous trim with photos of these extras and the different seat trim and wheel design. Next to the spec list would be a large photo of the particular model in an appropriate setting - outside a glass-fronted office building with a guy in a suit carrying a brief case and talking on a brick mobile phone standing next the the luxury model, or a two young women sitting outside a cafe with their mid-range supermini parked outside.
