Hi All,

My winter car (E320 cdi estate) 2004 has parking sensors which sometimes work and sometimes don't !

Basicially I have found that even if the odd one sensor stops working, the complete system does not function.

When it rains they don't work, otherwise they are fine.

So I want to clean the back of all the sensors (behind the bumper) and put some waterproof sealant spray on them.

So what would you recommend?

rather than spray , id look at some clear epoxy or similar to seal up any gaps where the wires go

And.... Is this not behind the bumper, where you cant see it? The backs of bumpers get covered in years of crap anyway.

Using a Spray is likely to get blown to other parts of the car, leaving ste on your paintwork. Unless of course you mask it up...by which time you could have just used a finger of grease on them and been done with it.

Any grease like substance will hold dirt and grime far more easily than a spray, also acf50 is designed for use on bikes that are used throughout winter, spray all over bar tyres and brakes, wash off in spring and perfectly preserved bike shining and gleaming is there before you, used it lots and cover my tvr chassis with it too works great.

Granted...but as I said - this is for an area behind a bumper. Who cares what it looks like? A tube of dielectic grease costs what, 50p? Yet acf50 costs £15 and will do no better of a job at preventing water ingress on electrics.

But whatever smile
