My wifes car is in for an MOT in the morning, she mentioned last night that her rear washer isn't working. I've had a look and it seams that the hose has come off the nozzle in the rear spoiler and its spraying down the outside of the spoiler. It's a pretty simple fix (hopefully) but not one I fancy doing in the dark tonight.

Would it be an MOT failure if it wasn't working? I know you don't have to have a wiper on the rear window, but I'm sure I read somewhere about when you have something fitted it needs to be working.

Rear wipers/washers aren't part of the MOT.

Yep. If fitted, it has to work. Whether he would be harsh enough to fail you rather than give an advisory depends on how near Christmas it is.. wink

Rear wash and wipe aren't tested. So don't worry! As long as the front one is good, it's not a problem.

My car has flown through 2 MOTs with the rear window wash not working. Most recent MOT was a couple of weeks ago.

Nonsense. If you're going to answer technical questions, please do your research first.

Just for that, I'm goint to point out that he mis-spelt "obliged" so I can get back my smug self-esteem that at least one of the above posters has an excess of wink . Now can someone get me off this chair.
