As a kid I remember so much coverage of Rallying on the BBC it was great - and this was post Group B for me..
F1 for the beeb is now a bit of a farce while sky nails it. As such why not ditch all of F1 and save a fortune while adding Rallying into the schedule. ?

Eurosport HD offer superb Dakar coverage so happy with that and its really a niche product.

Yes.

But rallying isn't what it was .

Now only 2 manufacturers teams,Citroen and VW and a joblot of good and not so good

privateers with Fiestas.

I would like to see it on telly but think it would ultimately be disappointing

Dakar is terrific, but the rest of rallying is dead boring, I'm afraid. It's been killed by technology I'm afraid - I reckon the only way to make the cars look interesting again is to dial in obsolescence.

F1 has done a great job of making the cars look and sound terrific, and the drivers a re just as busy at the wheel now as they (almost) always have.

Coverage on the Beeb has been fine. Not as good as it was but still fine.

Yeah I remember the beeb doing rallying it was always a good way to wile away a bit of Sunday afternoon, I agree that they should bring it back, but the problem with dropping F1 completely is that not everyone has SKY or are inclined to get it.

Steve Rider mentioned this last year at the Autosport show - a perfect opportunity for the Beeb to resurrect their Motorsport coverage. Sadly, they're not interested; it's F1 or nothing. You only have to look at how they treat MotoGP....

Thing is, a lot of the other series could be bought for peanuts, especially the WRC, maybe even WEC highlights, etc

F1 is only great if you're the best. That goes for driver, team and broadcaster.

Bring back Rallycross and get Murray Walker to shout "look at this" a lot into a microphone. I'd pay my TV licence twice over for that.

Some decent WEC/Le Mans/GT racing coverage (outside of Eurosport, which isn't great) would be great as well as WRC.

Speaking of WRC, it might be a bit dilapidated atm, but give a couple of years of good prime-time exposure and the sponsors/manufacturers will start coming back.
