Blue strips on a white Viper? Yes please! GT40? Definitely. MINI Cooper, go on then, it's a bit of fun.

But an Audi? And an A4 saloon at that?

I like Audi's, I've had several and they're beautifully conceived and executed designs, discreet, tasteful, stylish.

But I really can't imagine why anyone would look at their subtle A4 diesel, a junior level exec saloon car, and think "you know what this car really needs? A bloody great stripe up the bonnet, across the roof and back down the boot".

The case for the prosecution rests, what say you members of the jury? biggrin

Dfficult to say without knowing if the said stripes had been applied in a self-mocking or ironic sense akin to sticking GTR badges on a Micra, GT3 RS badges on a Beetle etc.

The blue goes well with the white, and brown, and grey and black and red.

Maybe he just didn't want to be the same as every other white Audi diesel shoppping car... or maybe he got fed up of not being able to recognise it outside Starbucks...

I knew the risks when I posted, but I felt it was one that needed to be taken.

So far, so good... boxedin

Even if they were it'd be a bit "Colin Hunt" though wouldn't it?

Yes, it looks gash.
What does gash actually mean and why does this Audi look it?

Personally I don't think it looks bad, certainly no worse than any other car with similar stripes. Is it maybe you (and others) are purely pre-judging on your own expectations rather than what it actually looks like?

Just means bad essentially. You want me to explain in words an unquantifiable entity? I can't.

It just looks terrible, in my humble opinion blah blah.

I don't have a pre-judged opinion on Audi's with stripes, because I've never seen one. My pre-judged opinion on them now, is that it looks horrible.
