Selling a car for export

Quickie bit of advice needed, I have just sold my car(hopefully) to a chap from France. Looking on the DVLA websire it appears that I have to give him the whole V5 document, just filling in a couple of sections and signing it, but not keeping any parts for myself. Then I have to send off a letter to the DVLA stating that it has been exported.
Just wanted to double check I am correct with someone who has some knowledge/first hand experience with this.
