How many iconic cars have slipped through your hands?
Discussion
Just read the thread on the death of the Imprezza and the talk of original ones becoming valuable collectors pieces like the Integrale or Escort Cossie and felt a tang of remorse over letting my absolutely standard original Imprezza go for buttons.
Others.....
The last 1.6 Gti Golf registered in NI which I got £500 for
1986 Mk 2 Golf Gti which I got £800 for
wonder what they'd be worth now if still standard and looked after?

Sold my Series 2 Escort RS Turbo a couple of years ago for £2k. Had FSH, dealer invoice, every MOT, etc, etc, and bodywork & engine were in excellent condition. Prices have since gone up and the car got sold recently for £5k
Back in '07 i had the chance of buying an RS500 Sierra Cosworth when prices were fairly low on them. The same car now would be valued well in excess of £35k
After missing out on that i saw a genuine Dimma kitted 205 GTI which had been stored for a few years. Waited 1 day too long to call the seller and it had gone by the time i did
Also had the chance of buying a genuine BTCC support Clio Cup car back in '08 but had to pull out due to a change in personal circumstances. Was gutted as it was one that had been built & prepped, but never actually raced so hadn't been crashed or pranged

When i was 18 i bought a bog standard, 1 owner from new mk2 escort 1.3gl for £300....no idea what i did with that but I'd love to still have it now....with a pinto or YB tucked under the bonnet of course.
I came very close in 1996 ish to buying a yellow intergrale evo for 12k, test drove it but the girlfriend didn't like it.
Also, when i was 21 i had the chance to swap my clio williams for a BTCC support clio cup, i drove all the way to Wales but lost my bottle, it was great fun on the test drive.
But my biggest automotive regret was when i sold my Williams i was offered a beautiful garaged Renault turbo 2 for 6k....6 sodding grand!!!!....and again, i lost my bottle.
Now i have actually thought about it and wrote it down i'm a bit gutted and rather annoyed with myself.
