I am looking to buy a new car between 30-40k but i cannot decide between them. I am 46 and have the following cars in mind:

Nissan GT-R
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
E92 M3 (Maybe supercharged biggrin) I would want an M3 that is a 09' reg or later.

I am not sure of any other cars i know in that price range so if you have an exotic car in that price range please post it please wink, and what would be the approx running cost over a year for a full service with oil change etc?

No kit cars
Has to be an 07' or newer
Will be used most days but not everyday

Regards
Donga

Depends exactly what you're looking for in a car. If it was my money I'd probably have a look at 355s and 996 GT3s as well.

How practical are you looking. Going by your list I assume it needs to be able to be used as a daily driver?

Lefthand drive and a bit different:

This would be good for track days:

Better looking (my opinion only!) than the Aston and rarer on the road:

Litte bit different and an awesome colour!

Actually this is a much better vette, a lingenfelter 600bhp one:

Totally impractical but masses of fun if you do have a more sensible daily:

Bit old but has oodles of presence, noise, speed and rarity:

I have a secondary car aswell that i will use for practicality and around town most of the time, but i wouldnt say it will be my weekend car as i will use it during the week sometimes too. I'm edging towards the AMV8, i wont be doing any trackdays either, I looked at Maserati but i think i would want a GTS if i got one but there a bit out of my price range.

Practicality wise, would just be 2 or 4 seats, not too bothered about a large boot etc.

Thanks

In a similar boat in about 6 months time,

I'm considering the Audi R8

Or the GTR

Has to be the Corvette for me, or perhaps

£33,333 might seem a lot of money for a kit car, but this one will blow your socks off. That said, if I had the choice between an Ultima and a Corvette, I think I'd get the Corvette, though I think the Ultima would be the better drive, with it's whole "miniture LMP" feel.

Exactly right LOL

How much approx is a GTR to service a year, with oil change etc? About £1,000?

You talking about oil/filters etc (i.e. service items) or you including tyres/brakes (i.e. consumables) in your figure?

Try driving the evora, it truly is a staggeringly good car.

My only concern was whether the marque will even exist this time next year & for me that was enough to stop me buying.

I'll tell you what though, the boxster spyder comes right in on budget, I did the launch event & I still believe its the best handling car Porsche have built for years. They're spec sensative, so you need one (IMHO) with the bucket seats & with the PSE sports exhaust but with them you're getting a truly rare Porsche with bespoke bodywork-alu doors, bonnet & boot etc.

Buy through a Porsche approved dealer & you get 2 years warranty thrown in too.

Would I buy one over a V8 vantage? It's a tough one but I do a lot of track/ring days so probably yes, you might think differently...
