Ford has confirmed which engines will be available in the next gen transit van...

Petrol:
3.7 V6 302hp/ 278 lb-ft
3.5 EcoBoost V6 365hp/ 420 lb-ft

Diesel:
3.2 I5 Powerstroke 197 hp/ 347 lb-ft

Unfortunately we only get the 2.2 TDCI in the UK frown

That's a bit mental. It's not inconceivable to get the same amount of power out of that Ecoboost V6 that could be found in the Transit that has an XJ220 engine in it...

The Ecoboost V6 is in a hell of alot of Ford/Mercury/Lincoln products in the USA because quite simply it's their replacement for the V8

and to think we are cutting back to 3, and sometimes even two cylinders.......smash

We definatly wont see any of those motors, shame frown I remember the days of the petrol v6 transits and they were bloody quick, not to mention driftable(ish)

Come to think of it, whilst on the subject has anyone here driven a Mk4 Transit 1986-1991?

I swear i remember that if you floored the gas the pedal did something weird like fold in on itself or something bizzare!!

The new ones with the go faster engines actually go quite well, so long as you remember to turn the eco function OFF hehe

Just feels like we are slipping behind here in the UK frown

Ah well... we all know white van's are the fastest things in the world regardless of engine. Fueled by curse words and red-bull breath I should imagine.
