So after having a look around I decided to buy myself one of these scanners and opted for a WLAN one so that I could use it with my iPhone.

Now I've had a play today and it works well with my laptop over WiFi but not so great with my phone. I have about 6 different apps for the phone and not one of them works as well as I'd hoped frown

So I'm wondering... a) How anyone else is using them i.e. apps and settings and b) If anyone knows of any decent free PC software that's compatible with a wireless scanner.

smile

What apps you using? I had Revs a while back and thought it was pretty good.
If it's the speed of the thing, I think they only have a 5Hz update frequency, so you can either have 1 metric updating 5x per second or 5 metrics updating 1x per second, that kind of thing.

I know it's of little use to you, but I use a bluetooth adapter with Torque for Android and it's brilliant. I think Rev is the most widely used equivalent for IOS, no idea how good it is though, or how good the WiFi adapters are.

I have the Rev app but it's only the free one so it doesn't give me much, I just want to make sure that if I were to buy it then it would be compatible but I have no way of knowing as it only gives me battery voltage and that is it?!
There are no apps that I can get any live data on for the phone whereas on the laptop I have demo software that gives me a bit of live data and then tells me I need the full version for other bits. Is there anything similar to this on the phone?
smile Thanks so far anyway.

Me three, bought a bluetooth obd plug from amazon after reading about it on here for a tenner just out of curiosity more than anything. Amazing, even with the free app I could clear the CEL......which comes straight back on because I'm not paying £200 for the pre-cat oxygen sensor thingy that's brokenbiggrin
