Anyone know if a PDF of your insurance documents on a phone is good enough for the post office when taxing a car? It's the same info whether it is on a screen or bit of paper but I can imagine there being issues, especially if they're of a certain age

I might be buying it tomorrow and it has no tax. There is a post office across the road from where the car is. Don't have access to a printer

I've had a similar thing a month or so ago... no chance. I didn't have access to a printer, so had to sign up at the local library and print it there.

Technology moves forward but people remain stuck in their ways it seems

Does the seller have a printer? Serious question smile .

If so, open your emails on his/her PC and print it off. Or save the document to a pendrive if you have one, and print it off of there on his/her premises.

From memory a printed pdf is ok. A fax copy is not.

Sorry - not true, we recently taxed my Wife's car using a faxed copy at the local DVLA office(DVLA due to changing it from a disability tax to PLG as she was the new owner).

For clarity, we received the faxed copy not the DVLA office.
