A good car to learn car control
Discussion
Iv recently sold my van to work and now have a company van to drive about in, including personal use.
also my mk2 mr2 track only car which I bought quite cheaply is knackered. (rusty sills, engine knocking and severely smoking big ends been done once already, and all the tyres are bald)
Iv got all the money I got for my van £2750 and £500 back from its insurance
and I want to get better at driving/have something car related to do.
I'm not sure weather to go down the track only route or road and track, I want something with good handling rather than just good grip. been thinking about mk3 mr2's.
Also want something light, petrol preferably n/a, must be rwd, mpg isn't an issue but insurance is as I am only 19. Though if it was track only, obviously insurance wouldn't be needed. I got a quote for a mk3 mr2 and it was £1060 so this needs to come out of the budget, budget could grow by £500 for the right car but I don't want to spend more than 1350 on insurance (the lower the better)
Anyone got anygood ideas? I am open to left field options.

Have you put the 3grand tax to one side for the personal use of the van?also my mk2 mr2 track only car which I bought quite cheaply is knackered. (rusty sills, engine knocking and severely smoking big ends been done once already, and all the tyres are bald)

and trust me when the police pull you over for coming out of a roundabout sideways in the rain all he will say is;
"Bloody hell you held onto her well, never thought I'd see one of these doing that"

+3 I never thought I'd say that! I learnt the art off opposite lock in my Moggy Minor. In more recent years I successfully applied it to my Caterham SLR hillclimb car. and trust me when the police pull you over for coming out of a roundabout sideways in the rain all he will say is;
