It's good isn't it. These videos put a real big smile on my face.

Chris Harris PAX ride in F1 GTR

Autocar Steve Sctcliffe GTR F1 Test

Jay Leno F1 Walk around

Jay Leno F1 Drive

It's Christmas so I thought I'd share the F1 love.

The only clip I remember was when Murray Walker was given the opportunity to drive the F1 and I think he just could not find words to explain how amazing it was.

There's something about that gearbox wail that I find almost sexually exciting. I realise that comment was inappropriate.

Yes, I think a Euromillions win would result in one of these in my garage.

It's ridiculous how much higher it is for me compared to everything else.

Offer me a sit in an Enzo, I'll say thank you, sit down and have a picture taken for facebook.

Offer me even a sit in a passenger seat of an F1, and I'd be trembling with excitement. Literally trembling.

If I won the normal lottery, the feelings an F1 would provoke would make it entirely worthwhile to change nothing else in my life except owning one. Even if it bankrupted me.

A euromillions win would have me in one for life.

There will never, can never, be a better car made.

Yep, but then prior to the F1 the greatest racing car designer of the generation had never been given carte Blanche to design the best road car possible.

Since, regulations and changing priorities and economics mean it'll never be as unadulterated and pure as the F1 was able to be.

Can you imagine a scenario where Newey gets given a blank cheque to design a road car, where he wouldn't have to worry about pedestrian impact rules?

I can't.

But the F1 had to be built to conform to the standards of its day, hence the use of the large catalysts doubling up as a rear impact crumple zone.

There will always be rules & regulations to conform to.

The hope is that one day someone else tries to build a car in the same vein.

Agreed, but the rules now are a lot more stifling. Far more compromises would have to be made. Don't think we'll ever see another engine like the S70/2...

I'd be happy if someone did give Newey or his successor the same free rein as Murray received, then I'd have two absolute dream cars...
