HELP,anyone on here work for the DVLA?

WE recently changed address so my wife filled in the

correct form and at the same time changing to a photo card licence.

Before sending the paperwork off she spoke to someone at the dvla explaining her passport has expired what would they accept as proof of identity.



She was told her birth certificate p60 and a utility bill would be fine.Yesterday paperwork comes back with a note saying the birth certificate was fine but they wouldn't accept the other as proof of identity.

Anyone else had this problem?.

Open to everyone? Would have posted anyway .

When we got married, my wife had to change her name on her licence which meant changing to a photo licence as well.

Her passport was valid except it had her old surname on; they wouldn't accept it, but the marriage certificate was fine . Took 3 goes before they would do the honours using the existng passport - 9 months .

On a different track, DVLA Preston have been nothing but helpful regarding licencing and registering vehicles. Shame they are closing (along with almost all - if not ALL - of the regional offices) .

They accepted her birth certicate which is in her maiden name.

Just spoke to the dvla its now ok for her to send in her out of date passport
