I've heard an advert on the radio a few times recently about the potential to purchase an approved used Merc for £8000 from a main dealer.

Now that not may sound out of the ordinary to the people of this forum, but to the ordinary non petrol head they might be forgiven for thinking it's a hoax.

Essentially they're advertising a luxo barge for what, second hand Mondeo money?

I wonder if anyone takes note of these ads and pops down to their local dealer to see if they can bag a bargain?

Wouldn't call an A Class (which I guess it is) a "luxo barge"...

Merc A class is hardly a 'luxo barge' and eight grand sounds a lot for one of them second hand

Agreed. Boggo spec petrol as well I would expect.

OP, I doubt they are talking about the E63.

It was the C-class mentioned in the ad.

Just did a check on the MB site, there's about 50+ cars for under £8k, starting from £3,970 smile

I think the ad is trying to tell people that they can own a Merc (from a main dealer) for not much money.

Many people will be under the assumption that main dealers only sell new or nearly new cars.

I like the fact that Mercedes are advocating what many on this site try to do.
