Took the Aston out this morning, before it pissed down, went down the 322 then the A3 M27, bit of M3 off at Basigstoke up the A30 and back home, excellent head clearing therapy. Washed it, microfibre towel down allow to cool then cover on in garage.

Anyone doing the Phoenix New Years day?

Yup I did, I'd hoped to go for a motorbike ride, but the rain ended that.
So just went for a drive, was looooooovely.
Not far, not fast, but just a drive for the love of it.

Don't bother. Roads full of 40 mph sunday drivers here!

Yup, it was sunny when I woke up so had a nice drive across to the EVO Triangle. Decided to have a walk while I was there and the weather changed. Drove back dodging floods frown

I had a lovely drive in the W124 300E barge special today around roads that I know very well, but had not driven this car along before. With nice wide roads you can make quite spirited (but let's be honest, not that fast) progress before settling down to a woofly cruise through the villages.

The question I'm weighing up now is to 1. run her into the ground, to 2. do a few cheaper bits I think she'd benefit from for now, or 3. plan on making her a keeper and spend some more significant cash. I am really rather fond of her and veering towards option 2 (but will probably end up doing option 3!).

Anyway I digress... a lovely drive today!

yes

Got up early, filled the tank, dropped SWMBO's daughter off at her grandma's near Great Missenden, then spent a good 2 hours exploring local B-roads and country lanes before heading back. About 200 miles covered in total.

Really enjoyed it. Empty roads, beautiful English scenery, and no deadlines. An opportunity to safely explore the limits of the car while pondering on the big questions of life. And the discovery of some new pubs smile

Drove home from my folks, nothing interesting, M6/M61/M60/M67/A57 Snake Pass, which was ruined a bit by a knackered clutch and some bimblers. Back at work tomorrow and taking the Jag out the scenic route through the Notts countryside

Went early enough and A322 / A3 Hindhead tunnel M27 / M3 clear as was the A30, so a good early start to boxing day. Guess you didn't go for a drive then.

I'm running Parada 2's on my car and it doesn't take the shine off going for a drive at all, not being able to give it the full beans doesn't mean you can't have fun smile

If my car wasn't stuck in a garage in Halifax waiting for a new clutch then I would've headed out this morning

Yeah that's what I'm running too, I jut cannot get on with them in the cold, wet, damp and greasy conditions.
However in the warm dry days they feel great.
