What vehicle ?

The problem is all this generic stuff is a bit naff imho.

Ideally what you want is a remap that has been installed by someone who knows what they are doing and has checked the engine is in good health before commencing, then alters the map to suit your car specifically - or at least ensures that the map is working as expected and then ensures nothing is wrong.

If you buy a handheld unit and install it on the driveway who knows if its safe or not ?
Who has any idea if it will perform properly ? I've lost count of the number of dyno graphs I've seen where a car has had a generic remap and its got a flat spot or some other sort of issue.

I've no experience with them, but a quick internet search turned up a thread on a German board which was less than poetic about them.

If you don't speak German, and get on a proper computer, wang this URL into chrome and let it translate for you:

You're looking for the post from Thopa81.

If you have even basic mods such as a higher flowing intake and exhaust i would recommend a custom remap.
