Tyre repair guidelines
Discussion
Had a search on here and on the web but haven't found an answer.
I know all about the repair guidelines for tubeless tyres wrt the distance from the edge, etc. I had a slow puncture yesterday, which I dropped in for repair today, and when the tyre was removed, there were two small nails, about 6" apart, but both very well within the central portion of the tyre where repairs are allowed.
The tyre shop (as well as somehow taking several lumps out of my alloy,
which they said they would pay for) wouldn't repair the tyre as in their words "the punctures are too close together and you can only repeat repairs at 90 degree separations". Now, I only used this particular shop for convenience, but I'm not convinced they're the most scrupulous of outfits.
I found one website which said that provided the repair patches (inside the tyre) don't overlap, then there is no practical limit on multiple repairs. No other websites which commented on repairs mentioned anything about multiple repairs, good or bad.
I'm not one to scrimp on safety issues, but on the other hand I don't really want to bin a £250 tyre unnecessarily. (Its a Rangie, btw).
Thoughts/advice/experience/suggestions/pointers appreciated.

Well I took it in to a little old-fashioned local repairer (yesterday was in London as I happened to be there) and they looked confused when I said that the London lot had said "no" and said yes, of course that's repairable - and they did, and they even put the wheel back on the car for me, with a cheery smile. I must remember to go there in future, the service is just so such better. Convinced the London place was trying to pull a fast one.
OP: get it hot vulcanised. Its a far more substantial repair and theyll need it over night (itll need a good eight hours in an autoclave). Anything on the tread can be repaired safely, including what many repairers tell you cant ever be repaired.
The guidelines for simple repairs anrent the be-all and end-all that most will suggest.
You may also have to travel, as the specialists are relatively few and far between. I can recommend a firm in Rotherham for others who are close by.
