I'm interested to see what people think the car is in the picture below! It's in the local paper as a car of interest in a fatal hit and run, with the police saying they're looking for a Mercedes E or C-Class, but it looks to me more like a 5 series BMW!

Looks like a W221 E-Class to me, maybe with a taxi plate below the reg?

E Class. Outside bet is an E38 7 series.

Looks like a W211 E or W203 C to me. The wheels are the right size and the lights and mirrors are right.

Certainly a Merc, almost looks big enough to be an S class.

I thought merc without reading what you'd written. But it's tricky to really see. RIP.

Tricky one, certainly an E60 5 series look about it. I can see why it could be considered a previous gen E Class tho.

Looks like I was wrong then, just thought the lights looked like an E60 BMW and the badge above the numberplate looked like the BMW one too. Glad I posted it up - didn't want to email the police on my guess alone!

Yeah pretty sure it's a taxi (the article did also say that).

Wonder if they've picked any damaged parts of the car to make them declare they are looking for a Merc ?

Cheers guys - looks like they were right! Good point about finding the damaged parts, I'm not sure - they've just released pics of two cars which were on the road around that time.

Thanks!

Interesting, I'm surprised they haven't got hold of the driver then, I needed to trace a taxi at work recently and the local licensing office couldn't have been more helpful and pulled up a list of possibles in short order.
