..... Then took it for a quick trip into town. Wish I hadn't bothered as I now need a new screen and a wheel refurbed! So annoying.... Screen hit on motorway and I guess wheel scuffed in car park..... Argh!

Anyone had a new screen on a 1M Coupe?

That's painful to read. Unlucky there, chap. But these things do happen.

Should I use BMW dealer or Autoglass for the screen?

Are you going through your insurance? If so, you may have little choice.

If you aren't I would probably say BMW, at least then you can be sure you are getting the right part rather than a pattern part.

No, it "got scuffed" by itself (man logic).

Well I know it sounds unbelievable but I genuinely don't recall doing it.... It's the slightest of scuffs, but I was shocked when I saw it......

Just wish I'd stayed at home!

Make sure it's a genuine BMW screen as some of the standard unbranded stuff the likes of Autoglass use can cause issues with the rain sensor for the auto wipers. When I had my 123d screen changed a couple of years back I went through Autoglass and made sure they ordered in the BMW screen (Pilkington I think) as otherwise they'd have just fitted what they had on the shelf.

Don't worry, these things always happen in threes.

Oh.

Oh.
Well there are two big chunks out of the glass, plus the wheel scuff, so hopefully that'll be the 3......

Rotten luck chap and a lovely car too.

I've had my e60 530i a week and already noticed that someone has been careless and put a dent in the front n/s door, some scratches on the same door and some scratches on the rear n/s door and a long continuous scratch along both n/s doors.

I think most likely Kids on bikes on the pavement where I parked the other day. I didn't park on the pavement, kids on bikes were on the pavement smile

Most annoying as it was immaculate.

I've sorted the scratches but the dent will have to wait until it has picked up more then I'll have it PDR'd.

It's extremely annoying isn't it? I wouldn't worry about it though, just look on the bright side - you own a BMW 1M. wink

FFS don't use Autoglass.

They couldn't even fit a windscreen on my van. Three goes they had at it and they made a right mess.

Lucky for the 1M it's fairly easy apart from the rain sensor and it shouldn't be too expensive.

If this was to happen on the Z4 i'd have a right panic as it would defo be an insurance job.

As for the rim. A decent refurb company will sort that out like new, though that's one job I wouldn't let the dealer do.

What has the Scottish F1 racer got to do with it?
