In reply to a previous topic I posted this car, my mum had one as a lease/company car and it started our family love affair with quick Renaults.
The reason for this topic is that I'm thinking of putting an offer in. I currently drive a 172 but I'm looking for something a little simpler that I can thrash about and have some fun in, not sure if I would keep as a second car or would use day to day.
I reckon it would be fun to sticker up and track, most people wouldn't expect how fast you can get it to shift. I thought £300-£350 would be the perfect amount and I could (just) afford it (Man maths at work here)

Oh, all right, then...
Yay, not sure why I feel it necessary to get permission from someone else but it does seem to make it more acceptable

You must pass everything by me first.
Try to remember this, I will not repeat it....

I will, btw if my cheeky bid goes well I'll post pics for you to ensure legitimacy (after mild sticker application
)Would't you be better just using the 172?
Bear in mind the RSI could possibly end up needing a clutch and steering rack, which unless you can do yourself will be pricey little jobs.
And given it's age it will probably need a bit more money spending to get it to a trackable state, your 172 being a newer car would be a lot easier to sort.

In answer to the original question.....yes
Track the 172.
Having two cars, two lots of insurance, tax, servicing, MOT, etc, etc to basically end up with a slower version of the car you already have doesn't make sense - the cost of the purchase of the other one plus all the above mean you'd be cheaper just to track the 172 IMO
