I know there have been posts in the past on these when they turn up on sale, but does anyone know if anywhere; Costco / Macrco / Machine Mart etc has them on sale at present as I'm after a 2ton one.

I've done the usual google search but didn't turn anything up so thought I'd ask the PH collective...

Try searching with "aluminium", perhaps.

Costco Coventry had the low entry aluminium jacks on the shelf yesterday. £89 + VAT I think. Look good in anodised red.

Machine Mart are doing one of their "VAT free" deals in a couple of days, you need a voucher/code. I would have sent you mine but I've just had a look & I'm pretty sure I binned it as I don't need anything from them at the moment. With a bit of luck someone else will have one they don't need.

Be careful though, watch the quality and the weight of the jack itself, a high weight gives away the use of a load of cheap steel internals.

Thanks for looking, if anyone has a code they don't want then I'd really appreciate it as there's a few things in MM that I NEED in my life....

I bought one a few years ago, think its a 1.25 tonne ally by Clarke( CTJ1250A ). To be fair its been OK, was around the £100 mark.
Thing to watch out for is (or this one did) it tends to work bolts loose to the point of them needing checking frequently. This may well be because it spends a fair bit of time in the van or truck but they certainly are budget.
Mine is about ready for the bin as the side handles are bent, one castor has fell off and its starting to retract slower and slower... Would buy another one mind!

The ones with the roller at the front are OK, but are simply not up to being used very often. Mine leaked and a wheel fell off, both repaired by Machine Mart. However it always twists when under load so it sits on one rear wheel.
Now the frame has bent and it doesn't go down as the centre bit catches on the side.
It is VERY light though and it ideal for track days etc.

I've upgraded to the 2.5 tonne one with proper wheels. It's solid as a rock, but is pretty much as heavy as a normal steel jack.

The B&Q one in the pic looks regular height
Even normal cars need a low jack, to get under.

And the B&Q website gives no details other than the words "Fashionable looking, strong support, high quality jack".

Describing a tool as fashionable leads me to the conclusion rightly or wrongly, it's both good looking and poor quality.
