Evening all, I'm looking for temporary car insurance......I have an urge for a Classic Range Rover or something small and fun for the odd blat / waft

I can't seem to find a company that will entertain anyone under 21..... it is primarily to save the hassle of keep changing vehicles over on my policy for a week or so at at time and then reverting back to normal.
All of which is fine with admiral but is a ballache and an admin charge will be incurred each time I change.

I have been quoted £960 fully comp for a year on a 3.9 EFI Classic Vogue by Admiral at 19 years old, however I don't think other insurance companies will be as nice to me due to having a multi car policy.

Anyone know of an appt' insurance company ?

What about dayinsure?

Just insure it for 2 weeks or whatever when you need to use it?

Not sure if they would cover it or not, they can be funny about certain cars.

You could try tempcover, but my insurer lets me add cars onto the policy on a temporary basis without affecting the cover of other cars on the policy, and they're admiral group.

Try a classic Policy on an RRC. Limited Mileage has my two old cars insured in total for less than my MX-5.

I've never found one that would do it, I still struggle at 25 frown check your current insurers because when I read through my conditions it mentioned that I was actually insured to test drive cars. I was really surprised but there it was smile

Temp cover etc Don't like those cars at all, tried a 205 GTI, MX5 and the RRC.

Will look into classic policy however most of them are over 21's.

Surely its going to be an issue with having to keep untaxing as its no longer insured?

Put it on your current insurance as a temporary vehicle. You'll only have a max on 3-4 months cover per year, but you can insure for one day at a time if necessary.

I did this when I had my V8 Discovery on my MINI policy at 19 (with Admiral), a whole month cost about £39, but a weekend could end up being quite similar (from experience)

?

The untaxed insurance malarkey isn't an issue as my dad has trade insurance so it's covered when I wouldn't be using it/insured on it.
